Honourable Isaac Asiamah, the Minister-Designate for Youth and Sports says that if confirmed as Minister, he will not be dealing directly with the Ghana Football Association (GFA).
The Member of Parliament for Atwima-Mponua made these remarks at his appearance before the Appointments Committee of Parliament on Tuesday.
“When I am confirmed by this honourable house as Sports Minister, and I want to make this clear to everybody, I won’t be dealing directly with the GFA,” he said.
“The GFA must put all their programs before the National Sports Authority for them to be sanctioned before they are forwarded to my desk.”
Mr Asiamah, who was confirmed as Sports Minister Designate by President Nana Akufo-Addo on January 12, also said he would stay away from the confrontational strategy employed by his predecessor Honourable Nii Lante Vanderpuye against the GFA.
“For me to to be fighting publicly, I wouldn’t do that,” he said. “There must be a table discussion.”
